Welcome to our website!
Here's a little more about the Great Falls Snowmobile Club: The Great Falls Snowmobile Club has been in existence since the early 1970's and in conjunction with the Meager County Little Belters , the King's Hill Grooming Association, the US Forest Service and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks we maintain over 300 miles of groomed and some ungroomed trails. The club has monthly group rides January through March, we host a New Years chili feed and our annual Doc Eusterman steak fry. All free of charge to anyone who may show up. Every third year we host the Three- club cookout at Ant Park. Please take a minute to review our web site for further information. |

3/15/25 We have had a great winter, we had over 200 inches of snow at the summit. We have been grooming 5 nights a week and have logged around 500 hours on the groomer. But as everyone knows, the season is rapidly winding down. We can legally groom to May 15, but that will never happen because of the night time temps. When the groomer starts to sink into the trails, we are done. We were near that a week ago but the weather changed. We are currantly only grooming the high traffic trails. The trails are holding up very well with the cooler nights. The parking lot currently still has snowpack if you wish to use it. Enjoy the spring riding. 1/24/25 With the exception of a couple issues the groomer has been running well this season. It seems like every time Mike gets the trails groomed out it snows another 18", we aren't complaining by any means. When we do get a big storm it is like starting all over with the grooming. Everyone likes some powder though, right? 1/3/25 As we get more snow Mike has been able get out and pack more trails. At this point we have groomed about half the trails at least once. Follow the link above for reference. 12/20/24 The groomer has been out the B trail down to the intersection with " d " trail and back to the top as there wasn't enough snow to go on. He has been out to Spur Park and down the Deadman road and back to the top at 4 corners. He has been up the A trail to Jefferson bowl and back down the power line. There has been no grooming beyond Spur park but the gates are open. We just need more snow as 10" to 12" just wont do it. 12/11/24 With the last snow storm we've had enough snow to work on a good portion of the west side trails. To date we are groomed out to Eagle park, back to Island park and across the " h " trail . The snow bridge across Belt creek is in. We plan to groom the X country trails Thursday night and we'll move on from there. We filled in the hole and damage done to the groomed trail from a car pulling in at the wrong turn to the parking lot. The gates are open on the west side, top and bottom of George Noble, the top of Lamb Creek and at Higgans park. Anything down lower with less snow they are still locked. 11/27/24 Our grooming season is getting close but here are a few things to consider before you go out. The trails open on December 1, this year it'll be the second because of hunting season. Snowmobiles are not allowed on the roads unless said roads are totally impassible to motor vehicles, but none of the gates or trails are open till December 2. The new safety shelter will open on the second. The groomer will go out sometime after, depending on snow depth. It needs 18" to 24" to run safely. The groomer spot will become active as he begins to run , check the link above regularly. 11/14/24 We received about a foot of snow and everyone thinks towards the snowmobile season. This year the final day of hunting season is December 1, and official snowmobile season is December 1 but no gates will be open until December 2 at which point, snow permitting we will open as many gates as we can. 11/3/24 We worked on the groomer, reinstalled tracks, blade and tiller. Now all we need is snow and opening season. Our snowmobile season officially starts December 1 . This year it will probably be December 2 due to hunting season. At that time we will open the gates and the new west side safety shelter at the intersection with Onion and Harley Parks. We would like about 2' of snow to commence grooming operations. Most of the trails are clear of trees, some haven't been traveled all summer so we really don't know conditions. Stay tuned here for updates. 9/15/24 The grooming season starts December 1 snow permitting. It runs Monday through Thursday nights and again on Saturday night. Follow the link above to track the groomer location it updates every 5 minutes or so, the Data is nearly real time. 2/8/24 Congratulations to our very own Mike Joyce for being selected as MSA Groomer of the year. Excellent job Mike, keep up the good work. |
